Meaning, from all the villages and areas that are conquered in this manner What Allah gave as booty ( Fai') to His Messenger from the people of the townships, And whatever the Messenger gives you, of spoils or otherwise, take it and whatever he forbids you, abstain. If this Surah is recited for forty consecutive days without missing a day, it will make even the hardest task become an easy one.Whatever spoils God has given to His Messenger from the people of the towns, such as al-Safr', Wd al- Qur and Yanbu`, belong to God, dispensing with it as He will, and to the Messenger and to the near of kin, the Prophet's kin, from among the Ban Hshim and the Ban al-Muttlib, and the orphans, the children of Muslims, those whose parents have died and who are impoverished, and the needy, those Muslims in need, and the traveller, the Muslim who may be cut off on a remote journey in other words, they are the due of the Prophet (s) and the four categories, divided up in the way that he used to, where each category received a fifth of the fifth, with the rest being his, so that these, the spoils - this being the justification for the division of these in this way, do not (kay-l kay functions like l with a following implied an ) become a thing circulating, handed round, between the rich among you. Drinking water in which this Surah has been dissolved is good for memory and concentration. If a four-rak'ah prayer is recited where after Surah al-Hamd Surah al-Hashr is recited, then whatever important work one goes to do will be successful (with the condition that it is not a sin). If a person recites both Surah ar-Rahman and Surah al-Hashr then one angel will be assigned to protect him at all times. It is narrated that whoever recites this Surah will be sent salutations from Jannah, Jahannam, the angels, the Heavens, the Earth, the trees, the birds, the sun and the moon and these will pray for the forgiveness of his sins. This Surah is 'madani' and it has 24 ayaat. Such blessings will be bestowed upon the recite owing to reflection upon its contents as the same reflects in man's life. Had he died on that day or night, he will be a martyr. Numerous merits have been mentioned for the recitation of the blessed Chapter in question.Īccording to a Prophetic tradition, whoever recites Surah al-Hashr, Paradise, Hell, Throne, the seven heavens and the earth, as well as animals, winds, birds, trees, creatures, the sun, the moon, and all angels invoke God Almighty that He may bestow His Mercy upon him and forgive him. The blessed Chapter mainly treats of hypocrites' collaboration with Medinan Jews against the Muslims, though the Holy Qur'an says that their stratagems lead to nothing but their humiliation and defeat. The blessed Chapter opens and closes with the glorification of God Almighty by all the world of existence. The word does not denote gathering on the Day of Resurrection, but it connotes people's gathering for migration. Is mentioned in the second Verse, hence the designation of the Chapter. The blessed Chapter has twenty-four Verses and it was revealed in Medina. It is mentioned in that when a person recites Sura al-Hashr, all creatures praise him and send blessings upon him and ask for his forgiveness and if he dies that day or that night, he will be considered a martyr. The topics mentioned in this sura are defeat of the Jews of banu nadir by muslims, the rulings about distribution of properties and booties Muslims gained without war, criticism of hypocrites and disclosing their actions, description and admiration of the immigrants' sacrifices. Sura al-Hashr begins with the praise of god and ends with His glorification. The name of sura is adopted from the second verse which mentions the exile of jews from medina.
